In Need of Assistance?
Please read carefully to see if you qualify for assistance. Due to the high volume of requests we receive, there is a waiting list. You will be contacted in the order your request is received.

You can reach the United Way help line by dialing 211 to learn about other community resources in our area.

Food / Toiletries / Diapers
Clients may receive food assistance from the SEA food pantry 6 times per year. If you are affected by the SNAP freeze, you can make additional appointments.

Utility Assistance
If you currently have a disconnect notice on a utility and have not received assistance from SEA in the past 12 months you may complete a request for assistance.

If your utilities are currently OFF please complete a request for assistance and call our office at 205-665-1942.

Medical Assistance
You may be eligible for assistance with medicine, dental, doctor visit, or eye care.

Housing Assistance
Due to a high volume of requests and a large existing waitlist, Shelby Emergency Assistance is temporarily pausing new housing assistance requests while we work to catch up and support families already on our list.
