In Need of Assistance?
Please read carefully to see if you qualify for assistance. Due to the high volume of requests we receive, there is a waiting list. You will be contacted in the order your request is received.

You can reach the United Way help line by dialing 211 to learn about other community resources in our area.

Food / Toiletries
Clients may receive food assistance from the SEA food pantry 6 times per year.

Diapers
Diapers are distributed to families with children once per month or during a food pantry appointment.

Utility Assistance
You may be eligible for assistance if:
1. You have a disconnect notice on a water, power, or gas bill (it must be in disconnect status or off, to potentially qualify).
2. Your household has experienced a recent crisis (loss of job, illness, unexpected change in income, unexpected expense, etc.)
3. You have not received assistance from SEA for utilities in the past 12 months
4. Live in Shelby County

Medical Assistance
You may be eligible for assistance with medicine, dental, doctor visit, or eye care.


Housing Assistance
Our housing assistance program is currently not accepting requests. We periodically pause new applications to ensure we can provide timely support to those already in progress.

We encourage you to submit your request during open periods, and if applications are temporarily closed, please check back soon. Your understanding and patience help us serve our community well.
